Role Overview – Senior Data Analyst I

The Senior Data Analyst I will perform advanced data management and analysis tasks within a specific functional or data domain. This position requires strong analytical skills, deep data format expertise, and continuous communication with internal stakeholders and external data sources.

You will operate as a subject matter expert (SME) in handling diverse data types, executing complex queries, evaluating datasets, and ensuring high-quality data onboarding and production support.

This role involves working within collaborative, cross-functional squads consisting of Business Analysts, Developers, Quality Engineers, and Squad Leads, ensuring faster delivery and shared accountability.


Key Responsibilities

πŸ”Ή Data Analysis & Research Support

  • Modify and execute pre-designed SQL queries for research and evaluation.

  • Independently generate coverage statistics, field population metrics, and profiling results.

  • Produce ad hoc data counts, statistics, and analytical outputs as required.

  • Run comprehensive data profiles.

  • Evaluate new data sources for onboarding into production systems.

  • Define quality thresholds and mapping documentation.

  • Support business and engineering teams with data subject matter expertise.

  • Create data documentation, including mappings and metadata.

  • Investigate, track, and report data issues.

  • Ensure corrections and clarifications are completed within defined timelines.

  • Maintain deep subject matter expertise within assigned data domains.

  • Handle various data formats, including:

    • XML

    • Flat files

    • Delimited files (CSV)

    • Fixed-width files

    • Excel spreadsheets

  • Utilize data workflow management tools to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

  • Provide technical problem-solving support to non-technical teams (e.g., customer service, advocacy teams).

Required Technical Skills

  • 6+ years of experience in data management and analytics.

  • Subject Matter Expertise in:

    • SQL

    • UNIX / Linux

    • XML

    • HPCC

    • Python

  • Strong knowledge of data types and file structures.

  • Experience with data analysis tools and processes.

  • Excellent research and analytical skills.

  • Strong proofreading skills to connect data points and identify insights.

  • Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly.

  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
