We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Backend to join our team. This is a role for an architect who thrives on complexity, operates with high autonomy, and is ready to design the core systems that power millions of transactions daily.

 Your Role: Engineering at Global Scale

In this role, you will deliver complete solutions spanning all phases of the SDLC. You are the technical decision-maker who bridges the gap between high-level definitions and production-grade operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Ownership: Design, implement, test, and operate backend solutions that support high-availability and fault tolerance.

  • System Design: Develop scalable backend architectures focusing on RESTful services and distributed database design.

  • Technical Leadership: Advise management on project-level issues and make technical decisions based on industry best practices.

  • Mentorship: Guide and grow junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and collaborative problem-solving.

  • Performance Tuning: Optimise system reliability and performance to maintain sub-second latency across millions of requests.

 Required Skills & Experience

We are looking for seasoned engineers who understand the “why” behind the code and can navigate enterprise-grade frameworks.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant backend work experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Core Java Expertise:

    • Advanced proficiency in Java EE frameworks (Spring MVC or Hibernate).

    • Proven experience with ORM tools and complex database design.

  • Networking & APIs: Experience designing and implementing high-scale RESTful services.

  • Database Mastery: Strong understanding of both SQL and NoSQL databases.

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large-scale, high-performance systems.

  • Knowledge of the payment processing industry and financial regulations.

  • Active contributions to open-source projects.
