Job Overview

PayPal is seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Sr Analyst, Data Analytics to join its Chennai team. This role is ideal for professionals who excel at advanced data modelling, statistical analysis, and business intelligence reporting.

As a senior analyst, you will bridge the gap between technical analytics teams and business stakeholders, independently leading high-impact analytics initiatives while mentoring junior analysts. The role demands strong SQL proficiency, advanced Excel expertise, and hands-on experience with Tableau and Looker.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Analytics & Modelling

  • Lead complex data analysis initiatives using statistical and predictive modelling techniques.

  • Apply advanced analytical methods to solve business-critical problems.

  • Drive measurable business impact through data-driven insights.

Business Intelligence & Visualization

  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards using Tableau and Looker.

  • Develop compelling visualizations to present insights clearly to senior stakeholders.

  • Translate complex datasets into concise, actionable recommendations.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with cross-functional business leaders to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Present findings through data storytelling and executive-ready reports.

  • Support strategic decision-making through structured analytical frameworks.

Mentorship & Leadership

  • Guide and mentor junior analysts on analytics best practices.

  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and analytical rigour across projects.

  • Act as a thought leader in analytics methodologies within the team.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in data analytics or business intelligence.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.

  • Close attention to detail with strong data validation practices.

Technical Skills Required

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying and managing large datasets.

  • Expert-level Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, macros).

  • Hands-on experience with Tableau and Looker for dashboard development.

  • Strong presentation skills using PowerPoint.

  • Ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly and effectively.
