This leadership role sits at the intersection of data architecture, business intelligence (BI), analytics engineering, and product strategy. You will work closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers to design scalable data infrastructure that drives insight, growth, and user satisfaction for billions worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
As a Data Engineering Manager – Analytics, you will:

Lead the Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehousing strategy across a key Instagram product vertical.

Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing data engineering and analytics team.

Design, build, and deploy data models, ETL pipelines, and analytics frameworks in production.

Ensure data reliability, quality, and governance across systems.
-
Define and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for datasets and production workflows.

Deliver executive-level dashboards and actionable insights.

Partner cross-functionally with Data Science, Product Management, and Engineering teams.

Drive operational efficiency and improve analytics speed-to-insight.
This role directly impacts company growth and product success through data-driven decision-making.
Minimum Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should have:

8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, or Data Warehousing.

4+ years of applied analytics experience (2+ years with a PhD).

2+ years managing analytics or data engineering teams, including scaling teams of 3+ members.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical discipline.

Strong expertise in SQL and at least one object-oriented programming language such as Python or Java.

Proven experience leading complex BI or data infrastructure projects independently.

Strong data architecture knowledge and project management capabilities.

Experience communicating insights and technical strategies to executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a quantitative field.

Experience in a consumer web or mobile technology company.

Hands-on exposure to Hadoop, large-scale distributed data systems, and modern visualization tools.

Strong understanding of performance optimization, data governance, and metadata systems.
