Role Overview

As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for eliciting, documenting, validating, and managing business, functional, and non-functional requirements. You will work closely with stakeholders, developers, and architects to ensure business objectives are translated into scalable system solutions.

This position requires strong analytical skills, expertise in process modelling, and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.


Key Responsibilities

Requirements Elicitation & Management

  • Gather and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.

  • Validate requirements to ensure alignment with business objectives.

  • Maintain traceability and manage changes throughout the project lifecycle.

Process Modelling & Documentation

  • Create clear as-is and to-be process models using BPMN or swimlane diagrams.

  • Develop supporting artifacts such as:

    • Business process flows

    • Data dictionaries

    • Use cases

    • Acceptance criteria

  • Produce high-quality, testable documentation aligned with project goals.

Stakeholder Engagement & Workshops

  • Facilitate structured workshops and stakeholder interviews.

  • Balance competing priorities through transparent communication.

  • Collaborate across diverse work cultures and business units.

Agile & Backlog Management

  • Manage user stories, sprint tracking, and backlog refinement using JIRA.

  • Maintain documentation and collaboration records in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and OneNote.

  • Support agile delivery cycles and continuous improvement initiatives.

Data & Visualization Support

  • Develop process maps and data flow diagrams using Visio or Lucidchart.

  • Use Power BI or Excel for validation, reporting, and business insights.

  • Support business reporting and data-driven decision-making.

Technical Collaboration

  • Bridge business requirements with GIS and system-level specifications.

  • Collaborate with developers and architects on integration discussions.

  • Understand system architectures, APIs, and data exchange mechanisms sufficiently to partner with technical teams.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.

  • 5–7 years of Business Analysis experience.

  • Experience in utility, engineering, or technology consulting environments preferred.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and facilitation expertise.

  • Strong technical acumen, including:

    • System architecture understanding

    • API integrations

    • Data exchange mechanisms
