The Role: Mainframe Specialist (Senior/Lead)

As a specialist with 8–15 years of experience, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and optimisation of robust mainframe applications that form the backbone of our enterprise operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Application Development: Design and code high-performance business logic using COBOL and JCL.

• Database Management: Architect and optimize complex queries and data structures within DB2.

• System Maintenance: Troubleshoot and resolve critical production issues to ensure 24/7 system availability.

• Performance Tuning: Analyze existing JCL and COBOL programs to improve execution efficiency and reduce resource consumption.

• Technical Leadership: Provide guidance on best practices for mainframe architecture and mentor junior developers within the IT domain.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a technical expert who thrives in a high-scale, stable environment and possesses a deep understanding of legacy system modernisation and maintenance.

Technical Requirements:

• Core Experience: 8–15 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe environments.

• Languages: Expert-level proficiency in COBOL and JCL.

• Databases: Strong command of DB2 for enterprise data management.

• Domain Knowledge: Previous experience in Financial Services, Logistics, or Manufacturing domains is highly preferred.

• Soft Skills: Proven ability to analyse complex issues and communicate technical solutions to diverse stakeholders.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Education: BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Experience: Generally 8+ years in a related Mainframe development role.
