The Role: Architecting the Modern Data Estate

As an Azure Data Engineer, you will be the backbone of our data integration frameworks, ensuring that our data scientists and analysts have access to clean, accurate, and scalable datasets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pipeline Engineering: Design and maintain complex ETL/ELT workflows using Azure Data Factory (ADF).

• Storage Optimisation: Build and optimise high-performance storage solutions in Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, and ADLS Gen2.

• Data Modelling: Implement robust data warehousing and integration frameworks to support enterprise analytics and reporting.

• Performance Tuning: Monitor and troubleshoot pipelines to ensure maximum scalability and cost-efficiency.

• Security & Governance: Apply best practices in data governance, compliance, and security across all cloud solutions.

• Collaborative Innovation: Participate in architecture reviews and mentor peers through code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Technical Success Profile

We are looking for a cloud-native engineer who balances deep SQL mastery with modern programming skills.

• Experience: 4–7 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering.

• Cloud Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Azure Data Services (ADF, Synapse, ADLS Gen2, Cosmos DB).

• Core Skills: * Advanced SQL and Python/PySpark for data processing.

  • Deep understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and ETL/ELT design.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git.

• Good to Have: * Experience with Databricks or Apache Spark.

  • Knowledge of Delta Lake or ADF Mapping Data Flows.

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203).
