We are seeking a Lead AI DevOps Engineer to join our Data Science & AI Competency Center. This is a senior leadership role designed for someone who can bridge the gap between cloud engineering and advanced AI, overseeing the design and delivery of enterprise-grade GenAI solutions.

 The Role: Architecting the GenAI Lifecycle

As a Lead Engineer, you will be the technical heartbeat of our AI Engineering team, guiding the deployment of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Small Language Models (SLMs) at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • GenAI Orchestration: Lead the architecture and deployment of advanced AI/ML/GenAI solutions into enterprise applications.

  • Automated Pipelines: Drive the automation of the entire model lifecycle, inference pipelines, and CI/CD for AI workloads.

  • Azure Infrastructure: Design and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructures with a heavy focus on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

  • Technical Advisory: Act as a senior advisor for stakeholders, translating business outcomes into technical solution designs.

  • Operational Excellence: Oversee monitoring, observability, and FinOps practices to ensure cost optimisation across environments.

  • Mentorship: Foster innovation and mentor engineers in best practices for GenAI adoption and engineering rigour.

 Your Profile: Technical & Strategic Leadership

We are looking for a veteran of the DevOps world who has successfully pivoted into the AI/ML space.

  • Experience: 5+ years in DevOps/Cloud Engineering with specific experience in AI/ML/GenAI projects.

  • Model Deployment: Proven track record in deploying LLMs/SLMs, focusing on inference optimisation, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and model serving.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Deep expertise in Terraform and Ansible.

  • Cloud & Containers: Expert proficiency in Azure, Kubernetes, and enterprise AI platforms.

  • Automation: Advanced Python scripting and Bash/PowerShell for seamless integration.

  • Environment Mastery: Expert administration of Linux and macOS (Windows is a plus).
