About the Role: SAP Consultant Intern

IBM Consulting is seeking a logically driven, commercially minded SAP Consultant Intern to join its world-class enterprise application practice in Singapore. This position is crafted for ambitious undergraduate students who want to build a compelling technology portfolio and gain professional consulting exposure by embedding directly into live corporate client engagements.

At IBM, interns do not operate on the sidelines. You will step directly into an active project ecosystem, supporting technical squads through full-lifecycle SAP ERP implementations (including modern S/4HANA migrations). Under the direct mentorship of senior consultants, your day-to-day work will bridge the gap between corporate strategy and software architecture—assisting in system configurations, validation testing, data analysis, and the synthesis of functional specifications. This high-growth internship serves as a direct pipeline to IBM’s elite Associate Program for top-performing individuals.

Key Responsibilities & Consulting Workflows

  • Implementation & Configuration Support: Assist the SAP consulting squad in core project delivery milestones, including modular configuration, data analysis, and system workflow modeling.

  • Specification Drafting: Help prepare detailed functional and technical specifications under the guidance of senior technical architects to map client business requirements to SAP modules.

  • Data Validation & Quality Assurance: Execute rigorous data validation routines, conduct end-to-end system testing, and manage issue-tracking logs for ongoing enterprise deployments.

  • Client Architecture Workshops: Participate actively in project meetings, client discovery workshops, and cross-functional knowledge-sharing sessions, preparing polished presentation materials and documentation.

  • Project Management Office (PMO) Support: Provide structure and administrative alignment across active project sprints, managing documentation repositories and delivery timelines.

Candidate Prerequisites & Required Skill Stack

Educational Profile:

  • ERP Curiosity: A deep, demonstrated interest in Enterprise Resource Planning systems (prior foundational exposure or conceptual knowledge of SAP S/4HANA is considered a significant technical advantage).

  • Business Process Acumen: A solid baseline understanding of essential corporate operations, particularly Finance (FICO) and/or Supply Chain Management (SCM) structures.

  • Analytical Reasoning: Strong problem-solving capabilities with a sharp attention to technical detail and data trends.

  • Communication Excellence: Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication habits, allowing for comfortable collaboration within a diverse, fast-paced team environment.

  • Desktop Productivity Stack: High operational proficiency across Microsoft Office tools, specifically advanced spreadsheet manipulation in Excel and presentation formatting in PowerPoint.
