Retail Data Analyst at Hermès

Apply for the Retail Data Analyst position at Hermès in Dubai. Shape luxury client intelligence and retail excellence using SQL, Python, Power BI, and IBM Cognos.

About the Company: Hermès

Since 1837, Hermès has remained an independent, family-owned French luxury house celebrated for its exceptional artisanal craftsmanship, entrepreneurial spirit, and creative freedom. Spanning 16 distinct métiers—including leather goods, silk, ready-to-wear, and jewellery—Hermès operates more than 300 exclusive boutiques worldwide, employing a global network of over 16,600 professionals.

Operating under Hermès Middle East, the subsidiary manages high-performing retail operations across 6 prestigious stores in the region. Hermès places immense structural value on deep client relationships and retail precision. The Retail Excellence division acts as a bridge between ancestral craftsmanship and modern, data-driven customer strategies, ensuring that every boutique experience reflects the Maison’s high standards of service and confidentiality.

About the Role: Retail Data Analyst

Are you an analytical specialist with a passion for luxury retail dynamics and consumer psychology? Hermès is looking for a full-time, permanent Retail Data Analyst to join its regional corporate team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Reporting directly to the Senior Retail Excellence Manager, this role is designed for professionals holding a Master’s degree who bring 3 to 5 years of experience within an analytical, data science, or luxury retail environment.

In this position, you will serve as the core center for both client intelligence and retail business performance across the Middle East. Rather than focusing purely on raw engineering pipelines, you will study spending habits, multi-generational client journeys, and store traffic dynamics. You will write efficient SQL and Python models, design dashboards in Power BI and IBM Cognos, and transform data into strategic recommendations to help the Maison preserve its heritage while capturing emerging market opportunities.

Key Responsibilities & Luxury Retail Workflows

  • Performance & Behavioural Dashboarding: Design, deploy, and maintain advanced visual reports tracking boutique health and luxury customer patterns (e.g., retention, spend velocity, cross-métier paths).

  • Global Analytics Sync: Partner directly with the Group and Europe Data Analytics teams to share regional insights and embed centralised intelligence models into local dashboards.

  • Data Integrity & Validation: Implement strict data cleaning and validation scripts to guarantee complete reliability across all regional retail and CRM databases.

  • Customer Database Optimisation: Audit and monitor the regional customer database, designing analytical tools and best-practice frameworks to help sales teams capture accurate customer data.

  • CRM & Profile Targeting: Support precision clienteling and CRM campaigns by executing advanced customer segmentations and providing detailed demographic profiling.

  • Retail Metrics Evaluation: Analyse weekly and monthly store KPIs—including sales revenue, UPT (Units Per Transaction), conversion rates, foot traffic, and average basket sizes.

  • Executive Storytelling: Contribute data-backed narratives, market trend reviews, and competitive landscape assessments for senior management presentations and strategic committees.

Candidate Prerequisites & Key Technical Skills

Successful candidates must combine solid statistical training with a strong business mindset and respect for corporate confidentiality.

Required Experience & Educational Baseline:

  • Professional Tenure: 3 to 5 Years of hands-on experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or Retail Planner in a consumer-focused corporate environment.

  • Academic Credentials: Master’s degree (Bac +5 / M.Tech / M.Sc / MBA) in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analysis, or a related science field.

  • Language Fluency: Professional verbal and written mastery of English is mandatory. Fluency in Arabic and/or French is highly preferred.

  • Core Traits: Exceptional ability to synthesise complex data, a natural curiosity regarding consumer behaviour, strong team spirit, and high discretion regarding private client files.

Core Technical Stack Competencies:

  • Data Programming: Proven proficiency in writing structured queries in SQL and statistical exploration scripts in Python or related languages.
