Role Overview
Meraki Labs is seeking an AI Engineer Intern in Bengaluru to contribute to next-generation Artificial Intelligence systems across its portfolio companies.
You will work closely with senior AI researchers and software architects to design, train, evaluate, and ship production-grade AI solutions. The role involves deep technical execution across Large Language Model (LLM) agentic workflows, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, model fine-tuning, and robust dataset preprocessing.
Key Responsibilities

LLM & Generative AI Development: Assist in developing and evaluating AI agents, RAG systems, model evaluation frameworks, and custom model fine-tuning.

Model Pipeline Integration: Collaborate with senior engineers to deploy AI/ML inference pipelines into production-grade applications.

Data Engineering & Preprocessing: Collect, clean, curate, and format large structured and unstructured datasets for machine learning models.

Open-Source & Code Quality: Write clean, modular Python code, participate in code reviews, and document technical specifications.

AI Research Tracking: Monitor emerging research in natural language processing, computer vision, and foundation models to implement state-of-the-art techniques.
Eligibility & Selection Criteria

Target Institutions: Currently pursuing a degree in CS, IT, ECE, AI-ML, or AI-DS from premier institutions (IITs, IISc, BITS, IIIT-H/D/B, ISI, top NITs, DTU, NSUT, Jadavpur, COEP, VJTI, PSG, Anna CEG, Thapar, Manipal, VIT). Exceptional non-CS majors from Tier-1 schools will also be considered.

Mandatory Public Portfolio: A clean, well-documented GitHub profile showcasing personal projects or contributions.

Demonstrable Proof of Work (At least one required):

Open-source contributions (GSoC, Outreachy, merged pull requests in reputable repos).

Published software packages or deployed projects with real-world users.

Academic & Competitive Excellence:

High competitive standing (JEE/GATE top ranks, Olympiad awards, Codeforces/ICPC ratings, Kaggle standings).

High academic performance (CGPA ≥ 9.0 or department topper preferred).

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python; hands-on experience with frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Hugging Face is a strong advantage.
