Freelance Data Analyst Specialist — Genpact

Genpact is seeking an experienced Freelance Data Analyst Specialist to join our extended analytics workforce on a contract basis. You’ll work remotely with cross-functional teams to turn complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that help shape business strategy and operational improvements. This role suits an independent, delivery-focused analyst who’s comfortable handling end-to-end analytics tasks and communicating findings to non-technical stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

• Analyse structured and unstructured data to identify trends, anomalies and opportunities.

• Build, maintain and optimise dashboards and reports (Power BI / Tableau / Looker).

• Write efficient SQL to extract and manipulate data from multiple sources.

• Develop data models and collaborate with engineering to improve data pipelines.

• Translate analytical results into concise recommendations and business stories.

• Support ad-hoc analysis requests and data-driven decision making across functions.

• Ensure data quality, governance and reproducibility of analyses.

Skills & Experience (Essential)

• Proven experience as a Data Analyst (freelance or in-house) — typically 3+ years.

• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.

• Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (Python or R).

• Hands-on experience with modern BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).

• Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL concepts and basic statistics.

• Excellent communication skills; able to present complex findings clearly to stakeholders.

• Comfortable working autonomously in a remote, deadline-driven environment.

Desirable

• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure).

• Knowledge of orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt) and data warehouse solutions (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).

• Familiarity with A/B testing, predictive modelling or ML fundamentals.

• Prior experience working with consultancy or professional services teams.

Contract & Availability

• Freelance / contract engagement — flexible hours but reliable delivery required.

• UK/India/Global time overlap preferred depending on project needs.

• Competitive hourly/daily rate (dependent on experience) — rates to be discussed during the screening process.
