Mu Sigma is a Decision Sciences & Analytics company helping Fortune 500 companies institutionalize data-driven decision making across verticals such as marketing, risk, and supply chain. It combines mathematics, statistics, domain knowledge, and technology to deliver insights, predictive models, dashboards, etc.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders (marketing, product, operations) to understand and translate requirements into analytics tasks.
  • Extract, clean, and prepare data from multiple sources (structured, possibly unstructured).
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and insights.
  • Build statistical and predictive models (e.g. regression, classification, time series forecasting) as needed.
  • Develop, maintain, and present dashboards and visualizations (using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar) to communicate findings.
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on data insights to help optimize marketing campaigns (channel mix, budget allocation, targeting, creatives).
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on marketing performance metrics (e.g., customer acquisition cost (CAC), return on ad spend (ROAS), lifetime value (LTV), conversion rates).
  • Collaborate with other teams (data engineering, business domain experts) to ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency.
  • Be adaptable to changing project scopes, tight deadlines, and evolving business needs.

 

⭐ Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, etc.).
  • Strong proficiency in data manipulation & analysis tools: SQL, Python or R.
  • Experience with data visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
  • Strong statistical knowledge (hypothesis testing, regression, clustering, time series etc.).
  • Experience with marketing metrics / analytics (digital marketing, campaign performance, attribution models etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to explain technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-starter, good with time management, able to deliver under remote/freelance setup.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving mindset.

 

👉 Preferred / Nice-to-have

  • Experience with marketing mix modelling.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and experimental design.
  • Exposure to big data tools / cloud platforms.
  • Some domain exposure in retail, e-commerce, FMCG, or consumer services.

 

🧾 Deliverables

  • Cleaned datasets + documentation of data sources & transformations.
  • Dashboards or reports on marketing performance.
  • Predictive or prescriptive models (if needed).
  • Recommendations for optimizing marketing spend or improving targeting / creative effectiveness.
  • Insights presentation / story for stakeholders.
