Role Overview – Data Scientist

As a Data Scientist at Cvent, you will play a key role in extracting, analysing, and interpreting complex datasets to support strategic decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify trends, develop predictive models, and deliver high-quality analytical insights that influence business performance at local, national, and global levels.

This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in statistical tools, and hands-on experience with AI models, SQL, and data visualization platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Data Collection & Management

  • Use automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources.

  • Develop and maintain databases and data systems.

  • Reorganise raw data into structured, readable formats.

  • Remove corrupted data and resolve coding errors to ensure data integrity.

  • Filter data through reports and performance indicators to identify and fix inconsistencies.

Data Analysis & Interpretation

  • Perform detailed analysis to assess data quality and business relevance.

  • Use statistical tools to identify patterns, correlations, and trends in complex datasets.

  • Assign measurable values to key business functions for performance benchmarking.

  • Analyse local, national, and global trends affecting the organisation and industry.

Reporting & Visualization

  • Prepare comprehensive reports for management, highlighting trends, predictions, and actionable insights.

  • Develop final analytical summaries for stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Create dashboards and visual representations using tools like Tableau and Power BI.

  • Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

AI & Advanced Analytics

  • Apply AI models and Large Language Models (LLMs) for predictive and diagnostic analytics.

  • Create AI agents and intelligent systems to enhance business processes.

  • Design and implement algorithms tailored to specific datasets and business challenges.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To succeed in this Data Scientist role, candidates should demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in data analysis or data science.

  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).

  • Advanced SQL querying capabilities.

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

  • Knowledge of Sigma or similar analytics platforms.

  • Understanding of AI models, LLMs, and algorithm development.
