The Role: Data Engineer (Business Analysis & Architecture)

Based out of our Chennai office, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of technical requirements management, system mapping, and ETL process optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements Architecture: Determine the exact parameters of complex data use-cases, translating ambiguous user requests into clear, cost-effective technical specifications for development teams.

• Data Solution Mapping: Produce comprehensive business process diagrams, process maps, system interaction diagrams, logical data models, gap analyses, and report specifications for pipeline design.

• Pipeline & ETL Oversight: Design, develop, and maintain structured data solutions for data generation, collection, and processing, ensuring reliable ETL flows across systems.

• Process Optimisation: Continuously evaluate existing business and system processes to identify bottlenecks, writing improved data procedures that elevate overall data quality and integrity.

• Strategic Stakeholder Facilitation: Lead structured technical discovery sessions, focus groups, and requirement negotiations with cross-functional end-users and senior executive management.

Technical Prerequisites & Required Skills

We are looking for a structured, methodical engineer who approaches enterprise architecture with a consultative mindset and exceptional analytical precision.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in data engineering, data solutions, or systems architecture.

• Core Competency: At least 3–5 years of dedicated, hands-on experience as a business analyst, gathering requirements and re-engineering complex workflows.

• Must-Have Skillset: Expert proficiency in Data Analysis & Interpretation with a strong handle on systems engineering concepts.

• Modelling Capabilities: Solid understanding of functional modelling techniques, logic diagrams, business case development, and cost/benefit analysis.

• Communication Mastery: Elite verbal and written communication skills in English, including technical writing, interviewing, listening, and high-level stakeholder negotiation.

• Work Ethic: Highly organised with a structured, methodical way of working and a professional appearance.

Education & Location Requirements

• Education: A minimum of 15 years of full-time education (Graduate/Post-graduate engineering or quantitative business degrees preferred).

• Location: Full-time position based on-site at our Chennai office hub.
