About the Role: Analytics Intern

Smith & Nephew is seeking an analytically curious, technically grounded Analytics Intern to join its corporate analytics team in Pune. This role is a 3-month, full-time, in-office internship designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students from engineering, data science, and technical management disciplines who are eager to translate data theory into real-world business intelligence.

As an Analytics Intern, you will work directly alongside senior data professionals to master modern enterprise data stacks. Your daily focus will center on extracting datasets using SQL, writing exploratory scripts in Python, and designing interactive business intelligence dashboards using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. This internship moves past standard theoretical work—you will be integrated into a functioning Agile environment, gaining hands-on exposure to pipeline standardisation, automation, and foundational machine learning algorithms.

Key Responsibilities & Analytics Workflows

• BI Dashboard Engineering: Learn to design, model, and deploy interactive, intuitive data visualisations and operational reports using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.

• Data Modelling & Calculations: Assist senior analytics engineers in structuring clean data models, defining relationships, and writing logical calculations/measures (such as DAX).

• Data Wrangling & Extraction: Query relational databases using SQL to extract, parse, and validate datasets for downstream analytical processing.

• Process Documentation: Support the team in maintaining technical documentation, pipeline schemas, data definitions, and analytics tracking workflows.

• Agile & Automation Sprints: Participate actively in team standups to discuss pipeline automation, data visualisation standardisation, and corporate Agile methodologies.
