About the Role

As a Data Science Analyst, you will dive deep into the credit risk modelling lifecycle. This role is designed for a quantitative thinker who wants to master data preparation, model validation, and machine learning applications within the financial sector. You will be instrumental in extracting actionable insights from large-scale datasets to drive high-stakes decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Credit Risk Modeling: Support the end-to-end lifecycle, from data prep and development to validation and monitoring under senior guidance.

  • Advanced Analytics: Perform ad-hoc analysis on massive datasets to extract insights that influence credit policies.

  • Machine Learning: Build foundational knowledge and apply techniques like classification, regression, and ensemble methods (Gradient Boosting, Decision Trees).

  • Data Engineering: Extract and manipulate large datasets using Python (Pandas/NumPy) and SQL, ensuring 100% data integrity.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex model results into clear, actionable presentations for both technical teams and leadership.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience: Up to 4 years in Data Science, Credit Risk, or a quantitative role.

  • Technical Core: Hands-on proficiency in Python (Pandas/NumPy) and SQL.

  • ML Foundations: Understanding of Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, and Gradient Boosting.

  • Education: Degree from a top-tier institution in a quantitative field (CS, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, or Math). Advanced degrees are highly preferred.

  • Domain (Plus): Exposure to credit bureau data or consumer lending concepts is a significant advantage.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Power BI for insight visualisation.

  • Awareness of AWS or big data cloud platforms.

  • Prior project experience in financial data or credit scoring.
