A bit about us:

We work with Local Authority building control teams across England and Wales, where we provide bespoke content and distribution services funded by advertising revenues. We publish and distribute branded, home improvement guidance to promote the building control services and raise awareness of building regulations to homeowners. We have 30+ year track record of providing these services to local authorities with ambitions to improve and expand upon our services offered.

 

What we are looking for:

The successful Business Development Manager will take a consultative approach with local authorities to provide content and marketing services to them, in return for the opportunity to sell advertising space within the product.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with individual councils
  • Renew and grow existing publishing contracts
  • Develop new relationships with cold or lapsed councils
  • Identify new opportunities with relevant prospect partners (such as Scotland and Ireland)
  • Manage your prospect list and contracts pipeline in order to maximise conversation rates
  • Use agreed reporting methods to analyse, forecast, plan and clearly communicate the progress of monthly, quarterly and annual publishing targets
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure alignment of key messages and customer experience
  • Promote all publishing products and services identifying and meeting clients’ needs and objectives
  • Attend client offices, meetings, events and awards ceremonies as required

 

Required:

  • You will have a proven track record in Business Development or Sales
  • You will be highly driven and organised
  • A natural communicator and team player with strong literacy and numeracy.
  • You will be tenacious and a highly motivated self-starter
  • You will have CRM and basic Microsoft Office skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in selling to the public sector
  • Experience in selling marketing services and digital publishing services
