Interns are matched to specific operational workstreams within the Digital, AI and Innovation Hub based on their background and interests:

Specialised Workstream Verticals

  1. Systems Transformation & Innovation: Horizon scanning, policy innovation research, documenting system-level impact models, and compiling innovation knowledge products.

  2. Programme Delivery & Capacity Building: Supporting UNDP Country Offices, drafting digital/AI toolkits, organizing training events, and coordinating national strategy implementation.

  3. Data Policy & Governance: Researching national data frameworks, data protection, digital rights, and drafting multilateral policy briefs.

  4. Data Analytics & Insights: Data cleaning, constructing monitoring dashboards, quantitative/qualitative analysis, and reporting progress under UNDP’s Digital Strategy.

  5. Partnerships & Strategic Communications: Researching tech sector partners, drafting outreach proposals, writing social media/blog content, and supporting global event engagement.

  6. Process Efficiency & Resource Management: Managing project workplans, operational planning, developing internal SOPs, and optimizing resource workflows.

  7. Product Design, Development & Management: Scoping app/web/AI platform requirements, conducting user testing, coordinating with software developers, and product implementation.

  8. Research & Knowledge Management: Desk research on emerging tech/AI, managing SharePoint/SparkBlue platforms, and curating knowledge repositories.
