Role Overview
The Special Advisor – Government Affairs position is a high-impact advisory role designed for a Retired IAS Officer (Gujarat Cadre). The selected candidate will act as a strategic bridge between corporate expansion initiatives and government policy frameworks.
This role is particularly suited for senior bureaucrats who have held key administrative positions and possess a deep understanding of Gujarat’s governance ecosystem, regulatory architecture, and socio-economic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Government Liaison & Strategic Representation
Serve as the principal interface between the organisation and state-level authorities, including the Sachivalaya, Chief Minister’s Office, and key ministries. Build and sustain high-level institutional relationships to support business operations and approvals.
2. Policy Intelligence & Advisory
Provide expert-level insights on policies and regulatory frameworks across multiple sectors, including:
- Land & Revenue Administration
- Industrial Development & Manufacturing
- Energy & Petrochemicals
- Healthcare & Public Health
- Tourism & Pilgrimage
- Defence & Strategic Affairs
- Labour, Employment & Skill Development
- CSR & Public Sector Undertakings

3. Strategic Alignment of Projects
Advise leadership on aligning expansion plans with Gujarat’s development agenda. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while maximizing policy incentives and opportunities.
4. Governance & Ethical Leadership
Embed strong governance frameworks within the organisation by applying administrative rigour, transparency, and ethical standards consistent with IAS service values.
Candidate Profile
- Retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer – Gujarat Cadre
- Extensive experience in senior government roles across key departments
- Strong network within Gujarat’s bureaucratic and policy ecosystem
- Proven expertise in governance, policy execution, and public administration
- High emotional intelligence, with a collaborative and respectful leadership approach
- Strategic thinker with the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments
