The Role: Senior Scrum Master (Systems Project Management)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master to lead dynamic teams in our API and Cloud Transformation division. In this role, you will act as a servant-leader, empowering one or more global Scrum teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

This position is ideal for an Agile expert who understands the nuances of AWS Serverless architecture and is passionate about fostering a “Fail Fast, Learn Faster” mindset within the financial services sector.

🎯 Key Accountabilities

  • Agile Orchestration: Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, and Daily Stand-ups) for distributed teams across multiple time zones.

  • Coaching & Mentorship: Train and support teams in adopting deep Agile values, guiding them toward self-organisation and high performance.

  • Backlog Management: Partner with Product Owners for epic creation, story decomposition, and multi-sprint planning.

  • Dependency Management: Coordinate with Release Train Engineers and participate in Scrum of Scrums to manage cross-team dependencies.

  • Blocker Mitigation: Build strong stakeholder relationships to remove risks and blockers, ensuring continuous delivery.

  • Agile Metrics: Track and report acceleration metrics to identify learning opportunities and drive continuous improvement.

💪 Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience: 8+ years of successfully applying Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe).

  • Technical Domain Knowledge: Good understanding of API architecture frameworks, microservices, and modern code management.

  • Cloud Proficiency: Familiarity with AWS Serverless environments, specifically AWS Lambda and AWS API Gateway.

  • Agile Toolset: Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, or Planview.

  • Domain Expertise: Experience in the insurance or financial industry is highly preferred.

  • Leadership: Ability to interact effectively with senior leadership and lead diverse, global teams.

  • Certifications: Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) is preferred.
