Role Overview

PagerDuty is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to accelerate the development of AI-powered products. You’ll collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and engineers to design and deploy ML models, AI agents, and generative AI solutions in production. This senior-level role requires strong leadership, communication, and cross-team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and improve capabilities that enable ML, generative AI, and agentic AI products

  • Collaborate with applied scientists and product teams on large-scale initiatives

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers

  • Lead the design and deployment of AI agents, models, and services in production

  • Stay updated on the latest ML engineering trends and integrate innovations into workflows

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience delivering ML solutions to production

  • Strong Python development skills (Elixir a plus)

  • Experience with data modelling, ETL, unstructured data, cloud-based infrastructure (AWS)

  • Proficiency with workflow management tools (e.g., Apache Airflow) and ML observability tools (Arize, Datadog, etc.)

  • Familiarity with NLP, deep learning, generative AI, LLMs, and AI agents in production

  • Strong communication skills and ability to partner across teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration systems

  • Ability to lead large-scale solution design and execution

  • History of presenting technical work at conferences or meetups

  • Experience automating workflows with AI to enhance engineering productivity

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: 137,000 – 207,000 CAD (plus potential bonus, commission, equity, and benefits)

PagerDuty operates on a hybrid model with offices in 8 major cities (Toronto, San Francisco, London, Sydney, Tokyo, etc.).
