Job Overview
Milestone Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Analyst / Engineer to support critical data operations within complex manufacturing environments. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and reliability of manufacturing control systems data as it flows into the Client’s CDL data lake and downstream platforms such as PI.
As a Senior Data Analyst / Engineer, you will work closely with manufacturing system owners, data lake engineers, and business stakeholders to identify and resolve data inconsistencies uncovered during the Trailblazer deployment. Your expertise will directly influence data readiness protocols, audit frameworks, and ingestion processes across multiple manufacturing sites.
This is a role for someone who thrives in environments where precision, collaboration, and technical depth are essential.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze, validate, and authenticate data from manufacturing control systems including SCADA, PLC, and other industrial automation systems.
• Detect missing values, data gaps, inconsistencies, and integrity issues in structured and semi-structured datasets.
• Develop and implement data readiness and authentication protocols to ensure clean, “fit-for-purpose” data ingestion into the CDL data lake.
• Build automation scripts, workflows, and pipelines using SQL, Python, or similar technologies to streamline data preparation and validation tasks.
• Collaborate with CDL ingestion teams to correct, enrich, and optimize data before and after ingestion.
• Create detailed documentation outlining data readiness workflows, authentication standards, and audit procedures.
• Contribute to audit controls and monitoring frameworks that ensure ongoing data quality and integrity.
Required Skills & Experience
• 6–10 years of experience as a Data Analyst or Data Engineer, ideally within manufacturing, industrial automation, or related environments.
• Solid working knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, control systems, and manufacturing operational data.
• Hands-on experience with data lakes on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Strong SQL and scripting abilities (Python preferred) with experience building data validation and cleansing workflows.
• Experience working with PI (OSIsoft/Aveva) or another manufacturing data historian platform.
• Proven ability to resolve complex data issues with incomplete or ambiguous datasets.
• Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to communicate effectively with system owners, engineers, and business teams.
• Strong analytical thinking with a deep commitment to data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
• Experience automating data processes in manufacturing or industrial systems.
• Exposure to audit or compliance frameworks in pharmaceutical or life sciences manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Grafana.
• Familiarity with Agile workflows and PI planning environments.
Compensation
