About the Role

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a key role in converting complex datasets into actionable insights that directly influence Shuru’s strategic and operational decisions. You will collaborate across departments — from business strategy to engineering — to define analytical requirements, design scalable data solutions, and ensure data accuracy across all reporting systems.

This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of analytics, business strategy, and data storytelling. You will not only be analyzing data but also shaping how Shuru thinks about and uses data to drive growth and innovation.

As a senior member of the team, you will also mentor junior analysts, guide best practices, and contribute to shaping the broader data analytics roadmap alongside our Head of Data Analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Data Insights & Business Collaboration

  • Translate business challenges into data-driven solutions, delivering insights that inform critical decisions.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop metrics aligned with business goals.

  • Present findings in a clear, compelling narrative that drives understanding and action among stakeholders.

Data Analysis & Visualization

  • Analyze large, complex datasets to uncover meaningful trends, patterns, and opportunities for growth.

  • Clean, manipulate, and validate data to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Design, build, and maintain visually appealing dashboards and analytical reports using Power BI and Databricks.

  • Support continuous optimization of reporting tools and eliminate redundant reports by migrating to scalable platforms.

Collaboration & Technical Excellence

  • Work closely with Data Engineering and Data Warehouse teams to maintain high data quality and availability.

  • Ensure data compliance and integrity across all regulatory and internal reporting processes.

  • Explore and evaluate new AI and Data Science tools to bring automation and innovation into analytics workflows.

  • Lead initiatives that improve analytics capabilities, including tool adoption, data governance, and operational process refinement.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, promoting a culture of learning, collaboration, and analytical rigor.

  • Support the Head of Data Analytics in building a high-performing, future-ready analytics function.

Requirements

We’re looking for a data professional with both analytical sharpness and strategic acumen.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a proven track record of turning data into actionable insights.

  • Expertise in Power BI, Databricks, and SQL-based data manipulation.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge effectively.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business requirements into measurable, data-driven solutions.

  • Experience mentoring junior analysts or leading small analytical teams.

  • Understanding of data governance, quality management, and performance measurement frameworks.

  • High attention to detail, professional integrity, and accountability in all deliverables.
