Role Overview
As a Senior Data Analyst at Capco, you will play a key role in defining, designing, and implementing data-driven solutions for our clients within the Banking and Financial Markets domain. You will be responsible for ensuring that data is reliable, consistent, and actionable — empowering our clients to make informed strategic decisions.
You will work closely with stakeholders, data engineers, and business teams to deliver accurate insights, support data migration activities, and drive continuous improvements in data quality and governance.
Key Responsibilities

Define and obtain the necessary source data required to successfully deliver insights, analytics, and data-driven use cases.

Determine data mapping and transformation logic to integrate multiple datasets across various systems and sources.

Identify, highlight, and report data inconsistencies or anomalies, and collaborate with business users to review and remediate them.

Propose and document suitable data migration sets, working closely with technical and business stakeholders.

Assist teams with planning, tracking, and coordinating data migration activities, including developing migration run-books and defining scope per customer.

Support the implementation of data governance frameworks and controls to ensure data integrity and compliance.

Collaborate with stakeholders across technology, business, and operations to ensure smooth project delivery with minimal business impact.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and promote the adoption of strategic, long-term data solutions over tactical workarounds.
Required Skills & Experience
-
4+ years of experience in data analysis, data engineering, or related analytics roles within Banking and Financial Services.

Proven hands-on experience with Python and PySpark for data processing, analysis, and transformation.

Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and working with relational and big data systems (Hive, CMD, Putty, Notepad++).

Strong understanding of data models, data dictionaries, and metadata management in a Financial Markets context.

Exposure to one or more data domains such as:

Settlements

Payments

Instrument and Pricing

Market and/or Credit Risk

Solid understanding of data control requirements and regulatory considerations surrounding financial data handling.

Experience working on large-scale data programmes or migrations within enterprise environments.

Strong analytical mindset, commercial acumen, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

Experience in Agile delivery environments, with a good understanding of SDLC, TDD, and testing best practices.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
Good to Have

Experience with Data Quality and Data Governance frameworks.

Working knowledge of Spark Scala (using Scala or Java).

Proven track record of leading small, delivery-focused data teams for Senior Data Analyst roles.

Exposure to market data vendors and data lineage tools.
