About the Opportunity
Luxoft is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst – Regulatory Reporting to support a strategic, multi-year regulatory transformation program for a major Australian financial institution. This role is based in Gurugram, Haryana, and requires strong domain expertise in MiFID II and G20 regulatory frameworks, deep financial markets knowledge, and hands-on experience translating regulatory requirements into actionable technical solutions.
As regulatory regimes evolve globally, financial institutions demand expert professionals who can confidently interpret regulations such as MiFID II, G20, Dodd-Frank, EMIR, and ASIC and drive the delivery of robust, scalable reporting systems. In this role, you will be a key subject matter expert working across business, compliance, risk, and technology teams to deliver high-quality regulatory reporting and system enhancements.
Role Overview
As a Senior Business Analyst at Luxoft, you will:

Lead the collection, analysis, and documentation of regulatory and business requirements from stakeholders and regulators.

Translate complex regulatory requirements (MiFID II, G20) into detailed functional and technical specifications for development teams.

Support the design, development, and implementation of regulatory reporting solutions impacting derivatives and financial instruments.

Conduct impact assessments for new or amended regulations and advise on required system and data changes.

Collaborate closely with compliance, risk, operations, and technology teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely reporting.

Perform data analysis using SQL or equivalent tools to validate trade records, reporting logic, and regulatory outputs.

Act as a liaison between functional business teams and technical developers to clarify requirements and resolve implementation issues.

Support testing activities, including test case development, execution, and defect validation.

Provide regular project updates and status reports to senior stakeholders and deliver clear, concise communication across distributed teams.
This role also includes mentoring and working with a growing multi-location team to deliver on key regulatory initiatives.
What You Will Do
Key Responsibilities

📌 Regulatory Interpretation: Translate regulatory rules (MiFID II, G20 reporting) into actionable business requirements.

📌 Documentation & Specifications: Produce detailed BRDs, FRDs, functional specifications, and user stories.

📌 Data Validation: Use SQL for data analysis, reconciliation, and validation of reporting outputs.

📌 Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with compliance, risk, operations, and technology partners to support delivery.

📌 Testing & Quality Assurance: Participate in test planning, execution, regression testing, and defect resolution.

📌 Impact Analysis: Assess and interpret regulatory changes for system impacts.
Required Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
-
4+ years of hands-on experience as a Business Analyst in financial markets, regulatory reporting, or regulatory technology.

Mandatory knowledge of MiFID II or G20 regulations, with a strong preference for experience in both.
-
2+ years of direct experience working with MiFID regulations.

Strong understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle and financial instruments, including:
• Interest Rate Swaps (IRS)
• Bonds
• FX Cash
• FX Options -
Demonstrated ability to work with both functional and technical teams on regulatory technology projects.

Proficiency in SQL for complex data queries, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting validation.

Excellent documentation skills—capable of writing clear, structured user stories and technical specifications.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
Candidates with any of the following will be highly valued:

Exposure to additional regulatory frameworks such as EMIR, Dodd-Frank, SFTR, or MAS.

Experience working in Agile environments and using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

Prior involvement in large-scale regulatory transformation programs or reporting platform migrations.

Familiarity with data models, reporting architectures, and BI tools used in regulatory reporting implementations.
