The Role: AI R&D (AIRD) Specialist

The Nokia CNS AI R&D (AIRD) team is a strategic, unified initiative dedicated to inventing the next generation of intelligent, generative AI and machine learning technologies.

In this role, you will transition Nokia’s AI initiatives from isolated features to a cohesive, industry-leading platform portfolio. You will contribute to a suite of best-in-class technologies that analyse complex data and automate the future of telecommunications.

How You Will Contribute

• Advanced Modelling: Design, develop, and deploy sophisticated AI/ML algorithms to interpret complex network and enterprise data.

• Generative & Agentic AI: Implement Agentic-based systems for high-stakes applications like anomaly detection and root-cause analysis (RCA).

• System Optimisation: Enhance search, forecasting, and text mining applications using cutting-edge machine learning models.

• Pipeline Excellence: Optimise existing ML pipelines for maximum scalability, resource efficiency, and performance in cloud-native environments.

Key Skills & Experience Required

We are looking for seasoned experts who have:

• Expertise: 10+ years of relevant experience in Machine Learning and AI research.

• Frameworks: High proficiency in TensorFlow or PyTorch, deep-learning techniques, and optimisation algorithms.

• Data Architecture: Hands-on experience with Search Engines, Vector Databases, and their underlying retrieval algorithms.

• Big Data Tech: Proficiency in big data frameworks, including Spark, Kafka, and Cassandra.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Education: MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Domain Knowledge: Prior experience within the Telecommunications industry.

• Innovation Mindset: A track record of moving projects from research incubation to commercial deployment.
