Role Summary

The Data Analyst will play a critical role in transforming raw and fragmented data into reliable insights that support operational efficiency and strategic planning. This position requires a strong command of SQL, a solid understanding of data governance principles, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

This is a fully remote role based in India and is suitable for entry-level, junior, and mid-level professionals who want to build or advance a career in data analytics, business intelligence, and data governance.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that data across the organisation is accurate, secure, and actionable. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining data governance frameworks to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations

  • Establishing policies for data quality, integrity, and lifecycle management

  • Working closely with editorial, marketing, technology, and leadership teams to understand data needs and business objectives

  • Identifying potential data risks, inconsistencies, and vulnerabilities, and proposing mitigation strategies

  • Designing and maintaining data architecture and metadata management systems to support reporting and analytics

  • Developing SQL queries to extract, clean, and transform data from relational databases

  • Monitoring and reporting data quality metrics and performance indicators to senior stakeholders

  • Supporting analytics initiatives by delivering dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc insights

  • Implementing data security controls, including access management and encryption, to protect sensitive information

  • Creating documentation and delivering training sessions to promote best practices in data governance and analytics

Required Qualifications

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline

Experience

  • 0 to 5+ years of experience in data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence

  • Freshers with strong SQL skills and analytical aptitude are welcome to apply.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts

  • Experience working with structured datasets and data validation processes

  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management

  • Exposure to analytics tools or BI platforms is an advantage

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights clearly

  • Attention to detail and a structured approach to data analysis

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
