Avalon Primary Care is seeking a Patient Services Representative to be the welcoming face of our clinic and the first point of contact for patients, both in person and over the phone. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional service to ensure smooth patient flow, accurate registration, and a positive healthcare experience. If you are passionate about patient care and thrive in a fast-paced medical office environment, we want you on our team!

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors courteously, providing assistance and guiding them to the appropriate services.

  • Collect and verify patient registration details, insurance eligibility, and prepare charts for visits.

  • Accurately complete patient forms, collect payments, and post charges to the billing system.

  • Retrieve and file EMR/paper charts and miscellaneous reports while maintaining strict confidentiality.

  • Answer incoming calls, take and relay messages, and schedule or confirm appointments.

  • Maintain a clean, organised reception area and waiting room.

  • Uphold Avalon Primary Care’s mission, core values, and HIPAA compliance standards.

  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting.

  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, HIPAA confidentiality, and infection prevention measures.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide exemplary customer service.

  • Ability to multitask in a high-stress, fast-paced environment while maintaining empathy and professionalism.
