About the Opportunity

Selectek has an immediate opening for a Job Captain/Project Manager to join our client’s fast-paced and innovative architecture and design team in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives in managing multiple projects, coordinating teams, and ensuring successful delivery of architectural design services from conception to completion.

The Job Captain/Project Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, client relationships, and project staff, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, fluency in Revit, and a hands-on approach to both technical and management aspects of projects.


Key Responsibilities

As a Job Captain/Project Manager, you will play a critical role in guiding projects through all phases:

Project Planning & Management:

  • Collaborate with Business Directors and Regional Partners to define project scope and objectives.

  • Develop manpower requirements, staffing plans, schedules, budgets, and fee projections.

  • Monitor project performance to ensure timeliness, quality, and profitability.

  • Take corrective action for projects falling behind budget or schedule.

Design & Documentation:

  • Lead the schematic design process and initiate design development.

  • Prepare and review construction-ready contract documents.

  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of all drawings and specifications.

  • Conduct detailed code searches and apply construction methods and procedures effectively.

Client & Team Collaboration:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients to build and maintain strong working relationships.

  • Communicate project updates, resolve issues, and ensure client satisfaction.

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams including engineers, designers, and consultants.

  • Mentor junior staff members and foster a collaborative, productive team environment.

Quality Assurance & Records Management:

  • Maintain detailed project records including budgets, estimates, history, correspondence, and code documentation.

  • Review staff work for technical accuracy and content.

  • Track project milestones and manage deliverables.

Community & Business Development:

  • Represent the firm at zoning and public hearings.

  • Promote the company within the business community to strengthen relationships and attract new clients.

  • Support proposal writing and contribute to securing new projects.


Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Planning, Design, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience:

    • 3–5 years assisting with all phases of architectural projects, OR

    • 5–10 years of end-to-end project management experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Advanced proficiency in Revit (must have).

    • Strong computer skills and familiarity with industry-standard software.

  • Professional Skills:

    • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Experience producing high-quality IFC design packages.

  • Other: Ability to handle a broad range of functions, from client management to design leadership.


Compensation & Benefits

This is a direct-hire position offering a competitive salary between $65,000 and $95,000 per year, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
