The Opportunity: Building from Ground Zero

We are recruiting for the first technical hire at a brand-new, greenfield AI startup. This isn’t just another integration project; it is a chance to define the AI architecture for a product that will revolutionise how architectural projects are presented.

Working directly with two ambitious founders, you will lead the development of an AI beta that analyses floor plans and diagrams to automatically generate architectural presentation sheets.

Role Details:

• Day Rate: £400-450 (Outside IR35)

• Duration: 2 Months (High likelihood of extension)

• Location: Remote (UK or Europe-based)

The Technical Challenge

You will own the technical roadmap and shape the AI stack from the ground up. The primary challenge involves Spatial Reasoning and Computer Vision—interpreting 2D architectural drawings to understand the underlying project intent.

Key Responsibilities

• Model Selection & Fine-Tuning: Evaluate and choose the best vision-language models (VLMs) or custom architectures for architectural data.

• Graphic Interpretation: Develop a prototype capable of analysing floor plans, renders, and site diagrams.

• MVP Architecture: Direct the foundation of a scalable SaaS platform, ensuring the AI backend is robust and performant.

• Collaborative Scoping: Partner with founders to translate conceptual ideas into structured technical delivery plans.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 3–5+ years in AI Engineering with a focus on model evaluation and rapid prototyping.

• Startup DNA: Comfortable working in “greenfield” environments where ideas are still being defined.

• Technical Push-back: The ability to challenge assumptions and propose realistic technical trade-offs.

• Multimodal Expertise: (Nice to have) Experience with image-based AI models, spatial reasoning, or technical drawing datasets.
