The Role: Lead Machine Learning Engineer

We are looking for a Lead ML Engineer to scale the Artificial Intelligence efforts at Paisabazaar. In this highly technical leadership role, you will be the architect behind models that power products focused on Speech AI, NLP, Computer Vision, and Generative AI.

You will bridge the gap between high-level business goals and production-ready AI, working autonomously to build tools that define the future of the consumer credit journey.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Speech & NLP Innovation: Develop state-of-the-art Automated Speech Recognition (ASR) for “Hinglish” conversations to extract critical business insights.

• Generative AI Strategy: Architect and deploy GenAI Chatbots built on extensive internal knowledge bases to enhance user interaction.

• Document Intelligence: Leverage computer vision for intelligent spend analytics, powering the next generation of Paisabazaar’s chat layer.

• End-to-End Production: Prototype, develop, and productionize ML models that impact business operations, product strategy, and engineering.

• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with product managers, designers, and business leaders to translate research into scalable business strategies.

💪 Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 8+ years of experience in classical machine learning and large-scale deployments.

• Specialisation: Deep knowledge in at least one area: Speech, NLP, Computer Vision, or Generative AI.

• Technical Stack: Hands-on mastery of PyTorch, Python, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

• Big Data & Infrastructure: Proficiency in Apache Spark and Big Data platforms to manipulate massive structured and unstructured datasets; experience with GPU computing is a plus.

• Data Fundamentals: Expert-level skills in SQL, statistics, experimentation, and procedural data manipulation.

• Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate quantitative topics to diverse audiences, from engineers to executive leadership.
