The Role: Lead Machine Learning Engineer

We are seeking a visionary Lead Machine Learning Engineer to join our AI & Analytics practice. In this role, you will be at the forefront of the Generative AI revolution, specifically leveraging the Azure OpenAI Service and Azure Machine Learning to build intelligent, scalable solutions.

You will bridge the gap between complex data science and real-world business impact, particularly within the Investment Banking and Brokerage sectors. This is a high-impact role requiring a blend of technical mastery in Python, deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP), alongside the leadership skills to mentor the next generation of data scientists.

Key Responsibilities

As a leader in our AI division, your core focus will include:

• Model Design & Deployment: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of machine learning models using Azure Machine Learning to optimise complex business processes.

• Generative AI Integration: Oversee the implementation of Azure Open AI Service to create intelligent solutions, including LLMs and custom GPT deployments.

• Strategic Innovation: Provide subject matter expertise in AI/ML to drive operational efficiency and identify new opportunities for data-driven transformation.

• Advanced NLP & Deep Learning: Develop and implement Natural Language Processing (NLP) models to revolutionise customer interactions and service delivery.

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with investment banking teams to tailor AI solutions that meet specific regulatory and industry-specific needs.

• Mentorship: Guide and foster a culture of continuous improvement for junior data scientists and engineers.

• Production Excellence: Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of AI models in live production environments.

Qualifications & Skills

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

• Cloud Expertise: Extensive experience with Azure Machine Learning and Azure OpenAI Service.

• Technical Proficiency: Advanced programming skills in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks.

• Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with Investment Banking operations or brokerage services is highly preferred.

• Analytical Rigour: Proven ability to analyse large datasets and extract meaningful, actionable insights.

• Communication: Excellent ability to present findings and strategic recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

• Education: A strong academic background in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
