 About the Role: Junior Data Scientist (Cloud Analytics focus)

The Junior Data Scientist position is an ideal entry-level role for a data enthusiast passionate about cloud-native tools. You will support the Data Science team in building scalable data workflows and transforming raw numbers into high-impact visual stories.

Working in a 100% Work From Home (WFH) setting, you will leverage the AWS ecosystem to support data-driven business decisions. Please note that this role operates during US Eastern Time business hours.

Key Responsibilities & Core Functions

• Data Management & AWS Preparation: Extract, clean, and manage complex datasets within Amazon Redshift. You will be responsible for ensuring data quality, consistency, and structural integrity for all downstream analytics.

• BI Visualization & Reporting: Design, build, and maintain interactive Amazon QuickSight dashboards. Your goal is to communicate trends and KPIs through automated reporting workflows and enhanced interactivity.

• Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Conduct deep-dive analysis to uncover hidden patterns and trends that drive business insights. You will generate ad-hoc reports to assist operations, product, and engineering teams.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Data Science Team Lead to participate in sprint reviews, stakeholder discussions, and data validation exercises.

• Innovation & Continuous Learning: Stay ahead of the curve by mastering AWS analytics services and contributing fresh ideas for dashboard design and process automation.

 Required Skills and Professional Qualifications

We are looking for an analytical thinker with a solid foundation in data principles and cloud tools.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field.

• AWS Expertise: Hands-on experience with Amazon QuickSight for reporting and a strong understanding of Amazon Redshift (queries, schemas, and joins).

• SQL Mastery: Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and manipulation.

• Preferred Tools: Basic exposure to Python or R is considered a significant advantage.

• Soft Skills: A strong analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to present complex data insights clearly to stakeholders.

• AWS Certified Data Analytics

• Amazon QuickSight Author Certification

• AWS Cloud Practitioner

Remote Work & Technical Requirements

As this is a permanent Work From Home role, the following hardware and environment standards are mandatory:

• System Requirements: Minimum Latest i5 with SSD (i7 preferred); 16 GB RAM (32 GB preferred).

• Connectivity: Stable internet connection (min. 25 Mbps) plus a mobile data plan for backup.

• Environment: A quiet, professional home-office setup.

• Schedule: Must be comfortable working US Eastern Time (EST) business hours.
