We are now hiring a Data Analyst to join our team supporting a leading US-based utility client, managing Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) business operations and optimizing system performance.


About the Role

As a Data Analyst, you will be part of an experienced operations and analytics team driving efficiency and accuracy within AMI Business Operations. You’ll work closely with Business SMEs, Functional Leads, and Managers to understand business requests, analyze data issues, and ensure accurate data fixes across production systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business teams: Work closely with subject matter experts, product owners, and functional leads to understand data requests, identify root causes of operational issues, and design sustainable solutions.

  • Data Analysis & Issue Resolution: Use advanced SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze data from Oracle, SQL Server, and MS Access databases. Investigate discrepancies and execute data fixes with precision and care.

  • Operational Support: Manage ongoing AMI Business Operations by ensuring data consistency across multiple integrated systems such as Itron Utility IQ, Siemens Energy IP, and Oracle CCB.As part of Operational Support, you will manage ongoing AMI Business Operations by ensuring data consistency and reliability across multiple integrated systems

  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure all fixes, reports, and issue resolutions are traceable and repeatable.

  • Cross-functional Coordination: Liaise with technical support, application development, and product vendor teams to ensure timely resolution of data and application issues.

  • ETL and Reporting: Understand Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processes to monitor data flows between systems. Develop reports and dashboards using Power BI and Advanced Excel for key stakeholders.

  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives by identifying recurring issues, proposing preventive solutions, and enhancing operational workflows.


Technical Skills Required

Database & SQL:

  • Expertise in Oracle SQL, SQL Server, and MS Access

  • Experience with DDL, DML, procedures, and functions

  • Strong analytical capability to query large datasets and ensure data integrity

Reporting & Analytics Tools:

  • Power BI for creating dashboards and visual analytics

  • Advanced Excel – Pivot tables, charts, Power Query, and data visualization

ETL Knowledge:

  • Understanding of Extract-Transform-Load processes across multiple database environments

Integration and Web Services:

  • Basic understanding of SOAP, XML, and Web Services architecture

Utility & AMI Systems:
Experience or knowledge of the following systems is an advantage:

  • Itron Utility IQ – Head-End System

  • Siemens Energy IP – MDMS System

  • Oracle CCB – CIS Billing System

  • Tesco MAMS – Asset Management System

  • Aclara ProField Encore – Workforce Management System


Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, reporting, or operational analytics.

  • Prior experience working with utility clients or AMI systems preferred.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in team environments.
