About the Role: AI/ML Engineer (Freelance / Part-Time)

Deccan AI is hiring an AI/ML Engineer (Python-based) to join its distributed engineering network as a Freelancer. This part-time, home-based position is perfectly configured for early-career developers and ambitious freshers bringing 0 to 3 years of hands-on experience who want to gain enterprise-grade AI exposure while maintaining flexible working hours.

As an AI/ML Engineer, your primary focus will center on translating raw datasets into fine-tuned, scalable intelligent models using Python. Your daily workflows will span data profiling, deploying traditional machine learning algorithms, running predictive modelling simulations, and building automated code workflows. Rather than just adjusting hyperparameters in isolation, you will evaluate model accuracy metrics, analyse statistical patterns, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy highly accurate and reliable systems.

Key Responsibilities & AI/ML Workflows

  • Model Training & Optimisation: Code, train, and tune custom machine learning and predictive models using Python 3 frameworks.

  • Data Exploration & Synthesis: Sanitise, profile, and structure raw multi-source datasets to feed downstream training algorithms.

  • Predictive & Statistical Modelling: Apply advanced statistical techniques to run predictive simulations, establishing reliable baseline logic for client projects.

  • Model Performance Evaluation: Design, implement, and track verification metrics (e.g., precision, recall, F1-scores) to benchmark intelligence accuracy.

  • Workflow Process Automation: Write backend scripts to automate continuous data preprocessing and model validation loops.

  • Cross-Functional Engineering Alignment: Collaborate with platform architects and human-curation teams to build reliable, scalable end-to-end solutions.

  • Analytical Insight Documentation: Summarise complex statistical anomalies and performance tracking outcomes into clear documentation for internal review.

Candidate Prerequisites & Key Technical Skills

Successful candidates must balance clear conceptual knowledge of machine learning theory with clean, practical Python programming skills.

Required Experience & Educational Baseline:

  • Professional Tenure: 0 to 3 years of experience in machine learning, statistical modelling, or core Python development. Talented fresh graduates with strong project portfolios are fully encouraged to apply.

  • Academic Credentials: Undergraduate degree completed (B.E. / B.Tech in any engineering specialisation).
