The Role: Infrastructure & Network Leadership

As a Staff Engineer, you are the guardian of Micron’s data communication health. You will ensure the security, availability, and performance of critical systems in a high-stakes 24×7 operational manufacturing environment. This role combines deep technical troubleshooting with strategic project management and financial oversight.

Core Responsibilities & Impact

• Advanced Network Maintenance: Oversee LAN/WAN, wireless, and VPN infrastructure. Conduct performance assessments to drive maximum reliability.

• L2/L3 Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex routing and switching problems using protocols like BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.

• Project Lifecycle Management: Lead infrastructure projects from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with global ITIL/ITSM frameworks.

• Manufacturing Resilience: Own the infrastructure processes for 24×7 plant operations, driving continuous improvements and audit readiness.

• Financial Stewardship: Maintain budgeting for CAPEX and OPEX, managing PR/PO processes effectively.

• Technical Breadth: Apply knowledge of Compute technologies, including SAN/NAS, Virtualization, and modern Data Center architectures.

• Talent Development: Mentor junior engineers and lead technical teams in capacity planning and talent management.

Requirements & Must-Haves

• Certification: CCNP (Must Have). ITIL and Project Management certifications are highly preferred.

• Industry Experience: At least 10 years of experience, with significant time spent in a 24×7 operational manufacturing plant.

• Analytical Prowess: Expertise in 8D Problem-Solving methodology and creative conceptual ability.

• Global Collaboration: Effective communication skills to work seamlessly across globally distributed teams.

• Leadership: Proven ability to organise, delegate, and manage tasks to exceed customer expectations.
