About the Role: Senior Business Systems Analyst (Hybrid BA/QA)

Empower is recruiting a full-time, permanent Senior Business Systems Analyst (Job ID: R.0056449). This position features a 100% Remote – Nationwide structure, allowing you to work from any location in India while aligning with the core technology hub in Bengaluru.

This is a unique, highly impactful hybrid role that bridges the gap between traditional business analysis and hands-on system validation. You will serve as the primary link between corporate stakeholders and engineering teams—translating high-level business goals into detailed, testable technical requirements for both user interfaces (UI) and API integrations. Beyond mapping requirements, you will actively jump into the quality assurance cycle, writing test cases, executing functional regression tests, and querying databases to ensure that what gets built matches the design perfectly.

Key Responsibilities & Functional Workflows

• Technical Requirement Translation: Partner with product managers and business teams to gather, break down, and translate complex functional needs into clear, structured Agile user stories with testable acceptance criteria.

• UI & API Specification Mapping: Design detailed technical specifications covering user workflows, frontend validation rules, and backend REST API integration layers (including request/response payloads and field-level data mappings).

• Agile Story Grooming: Deconstruct technical requirements by facilitating collaborative refinement sessions with software engineers and QA analysts, proactively catching design gaps and edge cases.

• End-to-End Quality Validation: Build comprehensive test strategies, write target test cases, and execute functional, integration, and regression tests across front-end web platforms and back-end services.

• Database Auditing via SQL: Write and run relational database queries in SQL to validate data consistency, verify target states, and perform end-to-end data processing audits.

• UAT & Defect Lifecycle Management: Organise User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scenarios for business stakeholders, document software bugs in Jira, and track code fixes through to successful deployment.

Candidate Prerequisites & Technical Stack

Successful candidates must combine strong documentation skills and a deep understanding of service architectures with the ability to perform hands-on system and data validation.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Professional Tenure: 5+ years of verified experience operating as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Systems Analyst, or within a hybrid Business Analyst/QA Validation capacity.

• Systems Blueprinting: Proven track record of translating business goals into detailed technical requirement sheets for both frontend UI frameworks and backend API structures.

• Testing Experience: Hands-on experience building test strategies, mapping test cases, and performing functional, integration, and user-flow validation testing.

• API & Integration Fundamentals: Strong familiarity with REST APIs, web services, microservice communication flows, and system-to-system integrations.

• Database Capabilities: Working knowledge of SQL with the ability to independently write relational queries to check data correctness.

• Tools Stack: High proficiency working inside Jira and Confluence to document requirements and manage sprint boards.

Preferred (Set-Apart) Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or an equivalent technical field.

• Prior experience working within a heavily regulated enterprise space, such as Financial Services, Fintech, Banking, or Insurance.

• A proactive analytical approach with an independent validation mindset—comfortable working alongside engineers while objectively verifying code correctness.
