Job Title: Freelance Social Media Manager

🌐 Job Purpose / Summary

To define, implement, and manage social media strategies and campaigns that enhance the brand’s online presence, engage customers, support marketing objectives, and drive measurable results across social media channels. Also to maintain and grow the brand voice, community, and content in alignment with eClerx’s global clients and quality standards.

 ➡️ Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a social media strategy aligned with business goals / client objectives.
  • Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video, written) across relevant social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, TikTok).
  • Manage content calendar: plan posts, schedule them, ensure consistent frequency and optimal timing.
  • Monitor social media channels for trending topics, brand mentions, customer feedback; engage in conversations and respond to messages / comments in a timely, brand-consistent manner.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, video editors, content writers for content creation, ensuring brand guidelines are followed.
  • Run social media ad campaigns: set up, optimize, monitor performance metrics (reach, impressions, engagement, click-through rates etc.).
  • Use analytics / insights tools to track performance (e.g. Google Analytics, social platform insights), produce regular reports with insights & recommendations to improve engagement, growth, ROI.
  • Stay updated on social media trends, tools, algorithm changes. Propose innovative ideas and format experiments (e.g. Reels, Stories, short-form video, live sessions etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with brand, legal & regulatory standards, especially for content, data, privacy.
  • Budget planning / resource management (if applicable) for content creation and ad spend.
  • Coordinate with other teams (e.g. SEO, digital marketing campaigns, PR, product) to ensure social efforts are aligned with overall marketing strategy.

 

✅ Required Skills / Competencies

  • Proven experience (often 2-5 years or more) managing social media for brands or businesses.
  • Strong understanding of all major social media platforms & how to optimize content for each.
  • Excellent content creation skills (copywriting, visual content understanding; ability to guide creatives).
  • Good experience with social media management tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer, Later etc.).
  • Analytical mindset: ability to interpret metrics, derive insights, act on data.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple campaigns / platforms simultaneously.
  • Creativity, trend-awareness.
  • Basic knowledge of advertising on social platforms (Facebook/Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, TikTok etc.).
  • Familiarity with digital marketing / brand guidelines
  • Desired Qualifications / Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing / Communications / Business or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Prior experience (freelance or in-house) in social media management / digital marketing
  • Portfolio / examples of past social media campaigns / content you have managed.

👉 Deliverables / KPIs

  • Content calendar submitted ahead of time (monthly / weekly)
  • Number of posts per week / platform (to be determined)
  • Engagement metrics: likes, shares, comments, growth in followers, reach / impressions
  • Campaign performance: ad spend efficiency, CTR, conversion (if applicable)
  • Response times for community management
  • Monthly / bi-weekly reporting with actionable insights

🧾 Payment / Compensation

  • Freelance / contract payment; rate negotiable based on experience, deliverables, scope.
  • May include fixed fee per month or per campaign + incentive / bonus for exceeding KPIs.
