👉 Role Overview
As a Freelance Marketing Automation Specialist, you’ll set up, manage, and optimize marketing automation workflows using LeadSquared (and connected tools). You’ll be responsible for building campaigns, improving lead conversion, integrating various lead sources, reporting performance, and working with internal teams (marketing, sales) to ensure automation aligns with business goals.
⭐ Key Responsibilities
- Understand business goals & define marketing automation strategy using LeadSquared.
- Create, configure, and maintain automation workflows (e.g. drip campaigns, triggered emails/WhatsApp/text messages) to nurture leads.
- Set up lead capture from various channels (web forms, landing pages, ads, chat, social, phone) into LeadSquared.
- Define lead qualification / scoring criteria and automate scoring to prioritize leads.
- Ensure internal lead handoff from marketing to sales happens smoothly (automated distribution).
- Manage data hygiene: ensure correct segmentation, clean list management, removal of duplicates, etc.
- Integrate LeadSquared with other tools / platforms (e.g. other CRMs, email tools, ad networks) as needed.
- Create dashboards & reports to track campaign performance, conversion rates, ROI, lead drop-off, etc.
- Monitor automation performance; test, iterate, optimize (A/B tests, email content, timing).
- Provide documentation & possibly train stakeholders (marketing/sales) on workflows, best practices.
🔝 Required Skills & Experience
- Prior experience (2-4 years) working with marketing automation tools, ideally LeadSquared.
- Strong understanding of marketing automation concepts: workflows, drip campaigns, trigger-based messaging, lead scoring & lead qualification.
- Familiarity with multi-channel campaign setup (email, WhatsApp, SMS, chat, etc.).
- Good analytic skills: ability to read dashboards, interpret data, derive insights to optimize campaigns.
- Comfortable with integrations or setting up data flow between different systems / tools.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with multiple teams (marketing, sales).
- Attention to detail; good at maintaining clean data, avoiding mistakes in workflows.
- Basic technical skills (could include HTML for email templates, familiarity with UTM parameters, maybe SQL or basic scripting depending on complexity).
🧾 Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Certification in LeadSquared platform or similar.
- Experience with similar tools (HubSpot, Salesforce Pardot, Marketo, ActiveCampaign).
- Experience in B2B SaaS marketing.
- Prior experience of remote/freelance work setup.
🆓 Deliverables & Goals
- Fully functioning automation workflows that generate, score, nurture, and distribute leads.
- Regular performance reports with key metrics (e.g. lead conversion rate, time to qualified lead, campaign ROI).
- Incremental improvements in automation performance (e.g. open rates, click rates, lead to opportunity conversion).
- A documented process for automation so that stakeholders understand lead status, workflow triggers, etc.
