This internship is hosted at the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru—GE’s landmark multidisciplinary research and engineering center established in 2000. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have pioneered hundreds of aviation patents spanning advanced materials, additive manufacturing, and AI-driven commercial intelligence.
Role Overview
As a Data Science Intern within the Data Science & AI team at JFWTC, you will work on exploratory Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI projects under the direct guidance of senior team members and dedicated mentors.
The role focuses on researching, developing, and deploying modern machine learning models, semantic analysis tools, operations research frameworks, and Large Language Model (LLM) applications designed to extract structure and commercial insights from complex datasets within GE Aerospace’s Customer Experience and Commercial Sales divisions.
Key Responsibilities

GenAI & ML Solution Development: Design, test, and integrate modern machine learning, deep learning, and Generative AI/LLM components using Python and cloud infrastructure.

Exploratory Data Research: Apply statistical and probabilistic methods, operations research, and semantic analysis to find structure in aviation datasets.

Technical Documentation: Document technical data, algorithm architectures, and code repositories in alignment with organizational standards and policies.

Technical Presentations: Prepare, document, and present analytical findings and digital solution results to cross-functional engineering leads and mentors.
Eligibility & Candidate Requirements
Academic Requirements

Current Degree: Pursuing B.Tech (3rd or 4th year) or M.Tech (1st or 2nd year) at a reputed institute.

Stream: Computer Science (CS) / Information Technology (IT) with a specialization in Data Science or Artificial Intelligence preferred.

Academic Threshold: 7.0 CGPA / 70% and above with zero active backlogs.

Prerequisite: Must submit an official No Objection Certificate (NOC) from college authorities prior to offer issuance.
