The Data for Good Hackathon serves as a premier, invitation-only pipeline into the firm’s prestigious 2027 Data & AI Program Summer Internship.
Role & Hackathon Overview
The experience begins with a two-day social-impact hackathon in Brooklyn, NY (travel covered under specified conditions). Selected participants work in agile teams alongside JPMorganChase Data and AI professionals to analyze real non-profit social datasets, developing data-driven insights and AI solutions.
Participants are evaluated for conversion into the 2027 Data & AI Summer Analyst Program. As a Summer Analyst, you will build end-to-end data platforms, production-ready machine learning models, Generative AI applications, and executive dashboards across corporate and investment banking lines of business.
Key Responsibilities
Hackathon Phase (Oct 16–17, 2026 – Brooklyn, NY)

Social Impact Analytics: Analyze large, messy non-profit datasets to extract actionable operational recommendations.

Agile Prototyping: Collaborate with expert mentors and peers to rapidly build predictive models or dashboarding prototypes.

Executive Pitching: Present quantitative findings and data-driven recommendations to non-profit leadership and JPMorganChase tech executives.
2027 Summer Analyst Program

Data Engineering & Platforms: Design scalable data pipelines and modern cloud architectures using AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, and SQL.

AI & ML Solution Deployment: Develop, test, and deploy machine learning algorithms, statistical models, and Generative AI applications (LLMs, Prompt Engineering) using Python.

Governance & Compliance: Maintain strict data governance, lineage, taxonomies, metadata definitions, privacy standards, and regulatory compliance protocols.

Business Metric Tracking: Design experimental tests and models to optimize key performance metrics, return on investment (ROI), and operational efficiency.
Qualification Requirements
Mandatory Eligibility Criteria

Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical discipline (Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields).

Graduation Window: Expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028.

Work Authorization: Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States without requirement of current or future visa sponsorship (JPMorganChase will not sponsor employment visas, OPT, or CPT for this program).

Prior Work Experience: Entry-level / Student status; zero prior full-time work experience required.

Regulatory Compliance: Subject to review under Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

Programming & Tools: Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.

AI/ML & Cloud Stack: Practical experience with AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, GitHub Copilot, LLMs, and Prompt Engineering.
