Role Scope & Technical Architecture
The Vertex AI Workbench team builds the foundational notebook experiences and infrastructure powering enterprise Generative AI workflows and agent development across Google Cloud:

Core Responsibilities
-
Frontend & UX Infrastructure: Own and optimize the developer notebook experience powering Vertex AI, building accessible, responsive web interfaces using TypeScript/JavaScript.

Backend & Distributed Systems: Design, build, and maintain high-throughput microservices and backend systems using Java, Go, Python, or C++.

GenAI Agent Infrastructure: Build foundational infrastructure supporting Generative AI agent workflows, integrating cutting-edge Gemini models for enterprise customers.

Technical Leadership & Architecture: Lead software design, architectural trade-off evaluations, and mentor engineers across cross-functional Cloud and AI teams.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Full Stack Development: 5+ years of experience across both backend (Java, Python, Go, or C++) and frontend (JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS).

Software Engineering & Architecture: 3+ years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, plus 1+ year of formal software design and architecture experience.

Compensation & Benefits Structure (Poland)

Base Salary Range: zł364,000 – zł373,000 PLN per year.

Annual Bonus Target: 15% of annual base salary.

Equity Compensation: Google Stock Units (GSUs) awarded based on level and performance.

Coding Rounds (2 Sessions): Advanced algorithm design, graph/tree traversals, time/space complexity optimisation.

System Design & Architecture (1 Round): Designing scalable cloud microservices, notebook state management, or high-throughput API design for ML infrastructure.

Full Stack / Domain Design (1 Round): Component design, state management, and API design bridging frontend and backend systems.

Googleyness & Leadership (1 Round): Behavioural assessment focused on technical leadership, collaboration, cross-functional impact, and bias for action.
