Coding at Scale: Google is Hiring Associate Software Developer Interns for Summer 2026

Google India is opening its doors to the next generation of engineers. If you are a student passionate about solving complex problems through code, the Associate Software Developer Intern (ASDI) program is your launchpad into one of the most innovative tech ecosystems in the world.

This 10–12 week internship, running from May to August 2026, offers a unique blend of high-impact project work, executive mentorship, and deep immersion into Google’s world-class engineering culture across Bangalore, Pune, and Hyderabad.

The Role: Building the Future of Search & Beyond

As a Google Intern, you aren’t just writing code; you are building tools that billions of people use every day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development Projects: Collaborate with a team of full-time Googlers to build, test, and deploy features on live Google products.

  • Skill Acceleration: Enhance your proficiency in tools and programming languages used at an internet-scale.

  • Technical Learning: Attend exclusive technical talks by executive Googlers to understand the “big picture” of global tech.

  • Mentorship: Get matched with a Google Engineer who will act as your guide, mentor, and advocate throughout the summer.

  • Community Building: Engage in social activities and networking events to build a lifelong professional circle.

 Your Success Profile

Google looks for “Googley” candidates—those who are curious, collaborative, and technically rigorous.

  • Eligibility Requirements:

    • Enrollment: Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s program (returning to school after the internship).

    • Major: Computer Science or a related technical field (this can include Engineering or Architecture students with strong coding portfolios).

    • Timeline: Ability to complete a full-time, 10–12 week internship between May and August 2026.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Language Mastery: Excellent programming skills in C++, Java, or Python.

    • Problem Solving: Experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages.

    • Communication: Ability to participate fluently in technical discussions in English.

 Training & Professional Development

  • Executive Access: Learn directly from the leaders who built Google’s core infrastructure.

  • Hands-on Exposure: Work with internal Google tools that aren’t available anywhere else in the industry.

  • Career Pathing: Successful interns are often fast-tracked for full-time Software Engineer (SWE) roles upon graduation.

 How to Apply (Critical Deadlines)

Application Deadline: January 14, 2026 (Note: Google often closes roles early if they hit a candidate quota—apply ASAP).

  1. Resume Optimisation: Submit an updated CV/Resume and your latest transcript in English.

  2. Location Preference: Clearly indicate your preference for Bangalore, Pune, or Hyderabad.

  3. The “Architecture” Edge: If you are coming from a non-CS background, highlight your CAD/BIM automation projects or any Python scripts you’ve written to optimise design workflows.
