The Goldman Sachs Summer Internship 2026 (often referred to as the Summer Analyst Program) is widely considered the gold standard for internships in the financial services sector. Over the course of 9 to 10 weeks, interns are fully integrated into global teams, working on live projects that range from multi-billion dollar mergers to high-frequency trading algorithms and enterprise-scale software engineering.

This is not a “shadowing” program—you will be expected to contribute to real-world deliverables while receiving world-class mentorship and technical training.

• Core Divisions: Engineering, Investment Banking, Global Markets (Sales & Trading), Asset Management, Operations, and Human Capital Management.

• Pipeline: Top-performing interns are eligible for Full-Time Analyst offers for 2027.

Eligibility Criteria for 2026

Goldman Sachs values diversity in thought and looks for students from all academic backgrounds:

1. Academic Status: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

2. Graduation Window: Candidates must be expected to graduate between December 2026 and May 2027(Penultimate year students).

3. Streams: Engineering (CS, IT, etc.), Finance, Economics, Business, Arts, and Commerce students are all eligible.

4. Academic Performance: A strong academic record is required (typically 6.5 CGPA or above).

    

Internship Roles by Division

Depending on your skill set, you will be placed in a specific functional track:

• Engineering: Building low-latency trading platforms, cybersecurity tools, or AI-driven financial models.

• Global Markets: Real-time pricing, market analysis, and supporting the FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities) or Equities desks.

• Investment Banking: Financial modeling, preparing pitch books, and assisting with due diligence for M&A or IPOs.

• Operations & Risk: Process automation, risk assessment, and ensuring global regulatory compliance.

Selection Process (The Superday)

2. Aptitude/Coding Test: Usually conducted on HackerRank for engineers or a numerical/verbal test for finance roles.

3. Video Interview (HireVue): A recorded session answering standard behavioural and situational questions.

4. Superday: The final round consists of 2–5 consecutive interviews with senior professionals from the division you applied to.
