Apply for the Data Scientist (Digital Marketing & Attribution) role at Ford Motor Company in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Drive advanced multi-touch attribution logic, lead GCP/BigQuery data integration, and optimise media spend frameworks for Ford of Europe.

About the Company: Ford Motor Company

Ford Motor Company is a global automotive pioneer driving the future of mobility through vehicular innovation, electrification, and cutting-edge software ecosystems. Ford’s Global Capability Centers (GCC) in India serve as core hubs for engineering, digital analytics, and enterprise technology, powering data-driven decision-making across global markets.

This Data Scientist position is embedded within the Ford of Europe analytics division, operating out of the world-class facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The Chennai team acts as a global engine for tech delivery, directly influencing how Ford optimises its massive multi-channel digital investments, modernises its web conversion funnels, and shapes next-generation customer acquisition strategies across European territories.

About the Role: Data Scientist (Digital Marketing Ecosystem)

Ford is seeking a sharp, full-stack Data Scientist to serve as the primary architect of its digital marketing attribution logic in Chennai. This position requires a comprehensive, end-to-end understanding of the digital media lifecycle—from top-of-funnel programmatic ad impressions to bottom-of-funnel consumer web configurations and vehicle configurations.

Rather than running isolated statistical scripts, you will lead the engineering and modelling required to stitch disparate ad-tech datasets into a unified “single version of the truth.” Operating on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), you will design multi-touch attribution logic, build resilient data pipelines, enforce strict governance over third-party digital marketing agencies, and leverage AI to automate data mapping. You will function as a proactive internal consultant, presenting factual data evidence to senior Marketing and Sales leadership to optimise capital budget allocations.

Key Responsibilities & Data Analytics Workflows

  • Media & Clickstream Integration: Lead the complex technical integration of multi-channel ad platform data (spend, clicks, and impressions across Meta, TikTok, Paid Search, and DV360) with internal, high-volume clickstream behaviour tables.

  • Customer Journey “Stitching”: Develop and optimise the backend user identity and touchpoint stitching logic required to maintain data continuity between external ad-tech ecosystems and Ford’s internal GCP/BigQuery environments.

  • Advanced Attribution Modelling: Design, implement, and validate multi-touch, first-touch, and last-touch attribution models to compute the exact incrementality and business impact of distinct marketing investments.

  • ETL/ELT Pipeline Orchestration: Build, deploy, and monitor scalable data transformation pipelines within BigQuery using advanced SQL and Dataform, ensuring all repositories are version-controlled via Git.

  • AI-Driven MLOps Automation: Inject AI/ML frameworks (such as predictive behaviour modelling, anomaly detection routines, automated schema mapping, or LLM-assisted code generation) to accelerate pipeline processing and reduce manual maintenance.

  • Agency Governance & Data Quality: Serve as the technical gatekeeper for external media agencies, auditing incoming data feeds, defining strict quality metrics, and debugging gaps in Digital Performance Reporting (DPR).

  • Dashboard Platform Migration: Support and lead core business intelligence strategies, building analytics tables optimised for QlikSense (Set Analysis, QVD files) and Power BI (DAX queries) while steering platform migration workflows.

  • Privacy & Cookieless Transition: Stay at the forefront of digital privacy regulations, adjusting attribution architectures to mitigate data loss stemming from cookieless tracking limits and evolving consent management frameworks.

Candidate Prerequisites & Experience Qualifications

Ford requires a data scientist who balances expert-level cloud engineering with a mature understanding of consumer marketing dynamics.

Technical Stack Requirements:

  • Programming & Cloud: Expert-level fluency in SQL and high proficiency in Python for data automation and machine learning. Extensive production experience within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically BigQuery, Dataform, and Git.

  • Data Visualisation: Hands-on experience with QlikSense (including advanced Set Analysis and QVD development) and/or Power BI (including DAX and Power Query modelling). Experience executing dashboard platform migrations is highly desirable.

  • Domain Expertise: Deep familiarity with ad-tech and web analytics mechanics, including programmatic platforms (DV360), paid social tracking (Meta/TikTok API tools), search infrastructure, and organic SEO indicators.

Experience & Competencies:

  • Proven track record of building, optimising, and maintaining production-grade marketing attribution models in a complex, multi-channel retail or corporate enterprise environment.

  • Demonstrated capability to bridge complex data engineering architecture with high-level corporate business strategy, providing clarity to non-technical stakeholders.

  • A proactive, self-starting mindset focused on optimising codebases, documenting methodologies, and serving as a technical mentor to scale capabilities across the broader analytics team.
