Role Overview

As a Data Analyst at MakeMyTrip, you will play a critical role in reporting, data validation, and decision support. You will work with large datasets, build automated reporting systems, and ensure data accuracy across multiple business functions. The role demands a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to present data insights in a simple and business-friendly manner.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Reporting & MIS

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex MIS and DWM reports using structured logic and standardized reporting frameworks.

  • Deliver accurate, timely, and meaningful reports that support business planning and performance tracking.

  • Translate raw data into insights that help teams make informed decisions.

Dashboarding & Data Visualization

  • Build intuitive dashboards and visual reports using Advanced Excel or BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

  • Present trends, KPIs, and performance metrics in a way that non-technical stakeholders can easily understand.

  • Support leadership and business teams with data storytelling and insight-driven presentations.

Process Automation & Efficiency

  • Identify repetitive manual data and reporting tasks and automate them using Excel macros, VBA, or advanced formulas.

  • Reduce reporting turnaround time and improve data accuracy through automation.

  • Continuously enhance existing processes to improve operational efficiency.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Act as a custodian of data accuracy by performing detailed data reconciliation and validation before publishing reports.

  • Investigate discrepancies and ensure consistency across different data sources.

  • Maintain documentation and best practices for data reporting and quality control.

Required Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of SQL for querying and analyzing large datasets.

  • Advanced Excel expertise, including pivot tables, nested formulas, charts, lookups, and automation techniques.

  • Experience with BI and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.

  • Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to manage and interpret high-volume datasets with accuracy.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills to interact with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.

  • Prior experience in MIS reporting, dashboard development, business analytics, or data operations.

  • Exposure to Python or R for data analysis or automation is an added advantage.
