Barclays is hiring an experienced Data Analyst in Bengaluru to support enterprise analytics and warehouse transformation initiatives. This role plays a critical part in modernising the analytics data warehouse landscape and delivering high-impact insights that power strategic and operational decisions across banking functions.

Role Overview

As a Data Analyst at Barclays, you will spearhead the evolution of the enterprise data warehouse environment supporting analytics use cases. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure robust data engineering, high data quality standards, and actionable business insights.

The role requires technical depth in SQL scripting, data profiling, warehousing concepts, and analytics, along with the ability to collaborate with Data Engineers, Architects, and business stakeholders.


Purpose of the Role

The primary objective of this position is to enable data-driven strategic and operational decision-making by:

  • Extracting actionable insights from large datasets

  • Performing advanced analytics and statistical evaluations

  • Identifying trends, correlations, and business risks

  • Presenting findings via dashboards, reports, and data visualisations

You will support operational efficiency, risk management, and process optimisation initiatives across banking operations.


Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Data Analysis & Insights

  • Analyse large datasets using complex SQL scripting.

  • Conduct data profiling and investigate data quality, lineage, and control issues.

  • Identify authoritative data sources and document methodologies.

  • Translate analytical findings into actionable business recommendations.

2️⃣ Data Warehousing & Engineering Support

  • Create detailed source-to-target mappings.

  • Support Data Engineers in developing and optimising data pipelines.

  • Contribute to warehousing projects using Teradata, Oracle, Big Data, and Cloud platforms.

  • Design and validate logical data models.

3️⃣ Advanced Analytics & Automation

  • Apply advanced analytical techniques to uncover trends and correlations.

  • Leverage machine learning and AI concepts for deeper insights.

  • Build automated data pipelines for data movement and processing.

  • Automate reporting solutions for both recurring and ad-hoc stakeholder needs.

4️⃣ Visualization & Reporting

  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and visual reports.

  • Present insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ensure reporting accuracy and business alignment.


Required Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, candidates should demonstrate:

  • Strong banking domain knowledge, preferably in collections and recovery lending.

  • Expertise in complex SQL scripting.

  • Strong data profiling and data quality assessment capabilities.

  • Experience in data warehousing projects.

  • Hands-on experience with Teradata, Oracle, Big Data ecosystems, and Cloud concepts.

  • Working knowledge of data modelling tools.


Highly Valued Additional Skills

  • Knowledge of the AWS cloud platform.

  • Experience with Python or PySpark.

  • Familiarity with Snowflake and Databricks.

  • Experience working in Agile environments using JIRA.

  • Exposure to modern analytics platforms and enterprise BI ecosystems.
