Role Overview – Data Analyst

Gushwork is hiring a Data Analyst to join its on-site team in Bangalore. This role plays a critical part in shaping the company’s data foundation and enabling data-driven decision-making across all functions.

As a Data Analyst, you will work with large, unstructured datasets from multiple internal and external sources. Your responsibility will be to transform raw data into reliable insights, build scalable reporting systems, and support leadership teams with accurate analytics.

This role is best suited for candidates who enjoy working in fast-paced startup environments, building systems from scratch, and automating processes for scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, clean, and maintain data pipelines by consolidating data from 10+ sources

  • Build scalable analytics infrastructure and define SOPs for repeatable workflows.

  • Own analytics across product, growth, finance, and operations

  • Write complex SQL queries to extract and analyse data.

  • Create dashboards and reports for leadership and business teams.

  • Enable self-serve analytics through documentation and intuitive tools.

  • Automate manual reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy

  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across all reporting systems.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related role

  • Strong understanding of relational databases and data structures

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, including joins, CTEs, subqueries, and window functions

  • Experience creating dashboards and visualizations that tell clear data stories

  • Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets

  • Working knowledge of Python or R for analysis and automation

  • Ability to use AI tools and chatbots to improve productivity and analysis workflows

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

  • Experience with ETL pipelines or data engineering fundamentals

  • Exposure to handling or migrating large datasets

  • Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Metabase, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms

  • Prior experience working in a startup or SaaS environment

  • Understanding of data governance and reporting best practices
