As a Data Analyst at bp, you will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting large datasets to provide actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making across our business.

You’ll work closely with data engineers, business analysts, and leadership teams to design dashboards, streamline reporting, and uncover trends that drive performance and efficiency. This role requires a blend of analytical expertise, business understanding, and a curious mindset to explore data-driven opportunities.

🧠 Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.

  • Perform in-depth data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and correlations that impact business performance.

  • Develop interactive dashboards, visualisations, and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business challenges and translate them into analytical solutions.

  • Design and maintain databases, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accuracy.

  • Generate ad-hoc reports to support ongoing business needs and executive decision-making.

  • Work with data engineers to improve data pipelines and automation processes.

  • Present findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and impactful manner.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve analytical models to ensure data-driven decision-making across departments.

🧩 Skills & Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or related field.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience (1–5 years) as a Data Analyst or Business Analyst.

  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualisation tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Working knowledge of Python, R, or other analytical programming languages.

  • Understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.

  • Excellent communication skills to present insights to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in energy, manufacturing, or technology sectors.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

  • Familiarity with predictive analytics and machine learning models.
